Power Music Professional needs to be re-activation after installing a Microsoft Update
1511 and 1607 are major Microsoft Updates - almost like re-installing the OS! We have discovered that in a few cases users are being asked to re-register Power Music Professional after performing the Microsoft Update November and this is using up your allowed activations. Your data will not be lost. If this happens to you, here is the solution:
- BEFORE you do the Microsoft Update take a note of the Power Music Activation Code. Go to Help/About to find it. Also find your Power Music Product Key.
- Although no data should be lost during the Update we recommend you perform a Power Music Backup before doing the Update. Go to File/Backup.
- Download and apply the Microsoft Update. The download is large (3GB) and can take up to an hour and a half to install. Make sure your tablet or laptop is plugged into the mains during the process. (and be patient!!)
- After the Update is completed launch Power Music Professional. If it requests re-activation enter your Power Music Product Key. No data will be lost.
- If you get an error saying that all activations are used up - Contact Cambron at support@cambronsoftware.co.uk and quote your Activation Code. We will free up the previous activation.
For more info on this Microsoft Update see here
Please make sure you are using the latest version of Power Music Professional.

Removing the BIG search box
Windows 10 has a large search box beside the Start menu. This can be a nuisance if you have a large number of program icons on the taskbar.
To make it appears as just an icon:
Right Click or tap and hold in the search box
When the menu pops up select Search/Show search icon

Recovering disk space after upgrade
After installing a Windows 10 UPGRADE about 12 - 14 GB of space on the hard drive is used up keeping the old Windows 7 or 8 installation. If you are not going to revert back to your previous operating system these files can be removed to free up space on the hard drive.
- In Windows Explorer go to "This PC"
- Right click on the Windows hard drive
- Click on "Disk Clean-up" and wait for it to check for files.
- Click on "Clean-up System Files" and wait for it to check for files.
- Tick the boxes for old Windows installation files.
- Click OK and wait for it to recover over 12GB of space!
